We are are thrilled to share the exciting news that our portfolio company Atero AI has been acquired by Crusoe!
Atero, led by the incredibly talented Alon and Omer, operated in stealth for the entirety of its existence (hence this is the first time we at Garuda Ventures are writing about the company :) The team applied their expertise in memory utilization to build proprietary technology for GPU utilization, workload orchestration, and inference optimization.
As demand for GPU workloads continues to grow at an incredible rate, with no end in sight for both training and inference, technologies that can help GPU cloud providers optimize their performance become increasingly critical. This made Atero a strong strategic fit with Crusoe.
Crusoe is on the short list of critical AI infrastructure providers that are emerging to meet this overwhelming demand for compute as the great AI buildout continues. Crusoe is the industry’s first vertically integrated AI infrastructure provider, powering the AI revolution with a unique energy-first approach. They are also developing the massive Abilene, Texas AI data center that will eventually be one of the largest computing clusters in the world, with capacity for 1.2 Gigawatts of power and designed to house up to 400,000 Nvidia GB200 GPUs. Atero’s technology and team will enhance Crusoe’s inference services and build the foundation for differentiated managed AI services offering to maximize performance and efficiency.
We were fortunate to partner with the Atero team from the very beginning. It started with an intro from a trusted node in our operator network who was working with Alon back when he was building his prior company. We stayed close and supported him as he transitioned to focusing on Atero, and pulled together a round led by Tobias and our friends at Primary Venture Partners and top tier operators and angels.
